Batman is back! The Telltale series has been getting rave reviews (with the exception of an episode here or there), and the next installment is coming our way, across all platforms on January 23rd. Last time we checked in with ol Bats, he had finished punching Lady Arkham and Riddler in the face a dozen or so times, and now had to contend with the Joker and Harley Quinn. As the series is want to do, they've re-imagined Harley as more of the aggressor, screwing with the Joker to turn him evil instead of the other way around, which is an interesting dynamic to watch unfold.
Rendered to look like a living, breathing comic book (which it mostly succeeds at), Telltale's vision of Batman features an award-winning cast of talent including Troy Baker, who returns to reprise his role as Bruce Wayne, as well as Anthony Ingruber, who reprises his fresh take on 'John Doe,' aka The Joker.
This new season aims to be accessible to both returning fans and newcomers alike, though players' choices from the first season of Batman: The Telltale Series will optionally carry over into The Enemy Within. You don't need to play the earlier episodes to follow along, but you really should, as it gives everything in the game more heft, especially your choices. This season also includes Telltale's unique multiplayer 'Crowd Play' feature, which allows friends and family to engage with the adventure together by helping to decide the direction of the story from any mobile device with an internet connection.
A special 'Season Pass Disc' for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 is currently available, and the disc includes the first episode of the season, as well as download access to all subsequent episodes as they are released.
