As Lil Gator celebrates their birthday month, marking three wholesome years since the original game's launch in December 2022, publisher Playtonic Friends and developer MegaWobble are delighted to share a very special gift for fans. Lil Gator Game: In the Dark, the major new expansion to the much-loved cozy adventure, will officially launch on February 12, 2026 for PC (Steam), PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. The base Lil Gator Game is required to play this expansion.
Alongside the digital expansion, fans can also look forward to Lil Gator Game: Gator of the Year Edition, a physical release for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch, published by Silver Lining Interactive, launching on February 27, 2026.. This boxed edition bundles the original Lil Gator Game and the In the Dark expansion into one adorable, complete package, perfect for collectors and cozy adventurers. A World Twice the Size, Twice the Fun
Lil Gator's next journey is their largest yet! In the Dark adds a massive underground playground beneath the island, full of glowing caverns, mysterious tunnels, secret treasure, and tons of new friends to meet. Every corner holds a new surprise, whether you're following flickering lightsticks through winding tunnels or stumbling upon hidden side quests in forgotten caves.
